Chris Okotie has ruled out getting married in future.Okotie dropped the hint Wednesday during the evening service at his
Oregun, Lagos-based Household of God Church, southwest Nigeria.
According to a statement from the church, Okotie decided to lay to rest speculations about his desire to get married in future.
This has been the subject of media controversy since his separation from his former wife, Stephanie Henshaw last year.
“Taking cognisance of the wide media interest that this issue is
likely to generate, we decided to make this statement to pre-empt
mischief makers from distorting the facts.
“His decision not to remarry is final and irrevocable, having already settled the matter with the Lord Jesus Christ.”
The pastor assured his well wishers, friends and numerous supporters
around the world that he is completely at peace with himself and his God
in arriving at the historic decision.
Okotie got married to Stephanie, who is also a member of his church,
in 2008 after he had separated from his first wife, Tina, due to
unresolved issues that were not disclosed.
Tina is now living in the United States of America. But controversy
had trailed his marriage to Stephanie, a widow and mother of three.
The marriage between them started during a thanksgiving service held in his church on 10 August, 2008.
Ever since he dissolved his second marriage to Stephanie mid-last
year, there have been different stories swirling around him. And one of
such, was that the serial presidential contender would be getting married
for the third time last December.
But the latest message has negated such speculation.
