Train sends a 7year Old boy to untimely grave in Osogbo

TRAGEDY struck on Sunday when a train crushed a seven- year-old boy identified as Wale while he was playing on the rail line at the Ayekale area of Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
The sad incident reportedly occurred shortly before the end of service at a Pentecostal church where the boy had gone with his parents to worship.
It was gathered that Wale was among some children who left the church premises to catch a glimpse of the approaching train.

He failed to run away from the path of the approaching train  in good enough time as others did.
A member of the church who spoke with reporters at the scene of the accident, Mr. Abiola Odeyinka, explained that the victim was playing with his younger brothers on the rail line and got carried away.
He said: “We were about to close the Sunday Service when we heard the horn of the train, which was coming from Offa in Kwara State.
“Many of the children who were at the children’s church trooped out to catch a glimpse of the train as many of them had not seen one before.
“ It was during this time that Wale, who was playing on  the rail, was crushed by the train.”
Attempts to speak with the Resident Pastor of the church did not yield any good result as he was not available when The Guardian called.
However, the NigeriaN Railway Corporation (NRC) said it was not aware of the accident as it had not been reported at the Osogbo office of the corporation.
