Nigerian National Basketball Player, Chinedu Onyeuku, Killed In Texas Under Mysterious Circumstances

Police are searching for motive in the early morning shooting of acclaimed basketball star Chinedu Onyeuku who police said had been seen breaking and entering an apartment in the Texas town of Plano.
According to local police, the owner of the Rio Grande Drive apartment said he saw two men on his patio at about 3 a.m. A glass door was smashed and the resident pulled out a shotgun and blasted the two men. Onyeuku, age 29, was killed at the scene but the man managed to escape.

Richard Mofe Damijo Accused Of N50 Million Theft

Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Richard Mofe Damijo (popularly called RMD) and the acting General Manager of the state’s Tourism Board, Philo Nkem Ajufo, have allegedly embezzled N50 million belonging to the ministry.Several sources in Delta State, including two employees of the Culture Ministry, told source that a former commissioner in the Ministry had requested N50 million to organize the “Delta State Expo 2007.” However, the state government was unable to release the funds that particular year to sponsor the yearly event.

Reports says the nursing mother who is extremely happy about her ‘new joy’ has been discharged from the hospital and has returned to her Magodo, Lagos residence.

The identity of father has however led to a series of controversial claims and denials; the actress a few months back claimed that former member of the House of Representatives Dino Melaye had a secret relationship with her for many months before impregnating her. Melaye, a married man with children however denied the relationship.

Another actress Lola Alao who is a close friend to Ibidapo-Obe was also brought into the controversy after the latter claimed that it was Alao that introduced her to Melaye…

Once upon a time and about two jobs ago, one of my colleagues who was so officious that she carried around three clipboards to make sure that she was getting on everybody's nerves, constantly used the expression "going forward." She usually said it after you made a minor mistake that she deemed outrageous, like filling out a purchase order incorrectly or routing a file to the wrong person. At the end of a long chastising lecture, she would announce, "Going forward, you should blah blah, blah." For some reason, it grated. "Why can't she say 'in future?'" I used to grumble.

Terry G wanted by Police?

According to some unconfirmed source, singer Terry G is allegedly  wanted by the Nigerian Police.He is said to be wanted in connection with a hit and run incident that occurred two Fridays ago.
Terry G is alleged to have hit the victim, identified as Moshood Azeez with his car while leaving Club Royale located on Oba Akran Road, Ikeja.

Moshood's leg is said to have been broken from the accident, and was rushed to General Hospital Ikeja where is reportedly receiving treatment.
Terry G allegedly fled the scene of the accident, leaving the helpless victim to his fate.
The Police invited the new dad, Terry G for questioning but he didn't respond to the invitation.
The Corporal Linus Reuben who is in charge of the case said Terry G has left the country for the UK, adding that  they plan to go after him once he is back in Town.

70 Percent Of U.S. Lacks Health Insurance Competition

Amid a flurry of merger activity in the health insurance industry, a new report says 70 percent of the commercial insurance markets are “highly concentrated,” threatening consumer choice of doctors and contributing to higher health care costs.
The report, issued by the American Medical Association, comes as health insurance companies are on the verge of taking an even greater role in providing coverage for millions more Americans. The Affordable Care Act signed into law two years ago by President Obama will begin in just 13 months providing subsidies to uninsured individuals and small employers to buy commercial coverage.
The study, which looked at 385 metropolitan statistical areas, said nearly two in five metropolitan areas  had one insurance company with a combined market share of 50 percent or more among health maintenance organization (HMO), point-of-service (POS) and preferred provider organization (PPO) plans. And in nearly 90 percent of U.S. markets, a single insurer controlled HMO, PPO and POS market share of “30 percent or greater.”

This seems like a good news to Nigeria's Educational system....huh?.......According to a new ranking released by Africa Network, University of Lagos is the 9th best University in Africa. Cairo University  still maintain the No 1 University in Africa.

According to a statement on their website, “While students from across the continent continue to move abroad to study at leading learning institutions in the U.S. and Europe, Africa boasts its own league of great universities. Presented below is Part I of Africa.com’s Top 10 Universities in Africa. Part II will feature the Top 10 Universities in South Africa, a country that is home to enough academic heavyweights to populate its own list.”

Military Joint Task Force (JTF) recovers 5,207 rounds of ammunition in Damaturu the Yobe state capital.

The military Joint Task Force (JTF) on Monday recovered 5,207 rounds of ammunition in Damaturu the Yobe state capital.
Displaying the ammunition to newsmen, the JTF spokesman in Yobe state, Lieutenant Eli Lazarus said the Task Force recovered the Ammunition following a tip off made available to it while on a cordon and search operation along the Kandahar area of Damaturu.
Other items recovered according to the spokesman include; two pistol, one riffle; three grenade, and Improvise Explosive Devices (IED).
The Items he stresses were concealed in plastic jerry cans and buried in the ground in a suspected Boko Haram terrorists arm store.
The ammunition it was observed were adequately lubricated for what arm specialists said is to ensure better preservation and to avoid rusting.
The JTF spokesman called on the people of the state to be security conscious and to report any strange persons within their vicinity for further action.
He also implored residents who have knowledge of any hidden arms or ammunition to report to security agents for prompt action as complains will be rewarded accordingly.

US born Kenyan artiste Victoria Kimani has been signed on to Chocolate City. She got Audu Maikori's attention when she uploaded her version of Ice Prince's Oleku online in August 2011.Born in LA, originally from Kenya, she started writing, recording and performing at 16, Lived in Nigeria her high school years, and Moved back to Nairobi, Kenya at 17...since then, she has been back and forth between LA, ATL, NY and London working with top artists and producers, perfecting and developing her musical and visual craft as well as writing for all sorts of signed artists around the world. In 2009 she joined a duo called Club Embassy and signed to Los Angeles Laker Ron Artest, released a mixtape called Diplomatic Immunity hosted by 50 cent's DJ Whoo Kid, it got over 250,000 downloads.
